In-house Advocacy and why it matters to you
Unlike other firms, Private Office believes in cross-training and our litigation lawyers are skilful tacticians who have not only served time in commercial practice but who regularly undertake instructions to attend hearings themselves.
We strive to settle cases as favourably as possible but it pays to have a solicitor that can carry your case to the finish line if required. Phil Simmonds (Head of Litigation) and Leonard Scudder (Solicitor-Advocate) have completed the profession’s Higher Rights of Audience qualification enabling them to personally push your case further than a generically trained solicitor might be able to.
This additional proficiency allows for more accurate advice to be given by our firm due to the naturally increased exposure our staff have to judicial opinion. We only undertake advocarial instructions when appropriate and refer to independent expert barristers when a case requires it but our hands on approach makes litigation economically viable by saving on the cost that you would pay outside counsel to just become familiar with your case and by incorporating the remainder fees into our fee arrangement with you.
